The Foreign Language Technology Center and its Mission

The Foreign Language Technology Center (FLTC) at Wayne State University is an academic support unit in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and primarily supports the Department of Classical and Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, and the English Language Institute. The FLTC meets the instructional technology needs of full-time and part-time faculty, lecturers and graduate teaching assistants in the program areas of Greek, Latin and Classics, Romance Languages, German and Slavic, Near East and Asian, and English as a Second Language. Occupying most of the third floor of the Manoogian Ethnic Heritage Center, the FLTC has a modern technology infrastructure comprising several multimedia instructional labs, AV equipment, rich digital resources and onsite technical staff.

The mission of the FLTC is to promote and facilitate the meaningful use of technology to enhance the teaching and learning of foreign languages, literatures and culture. It does so through Programs to motivate instructional technology use, Technology Resources, Services provided, and Events for faculty and students.
